Capital Fundraising Campaign 2005

In 2005 the Tulsa Rowing Club, along with the University of Tulsa, is undertaking its largest fundraising campaign to date. Plans are being made to create the best facilities for rowing training in the Mid-America, if not the country. These plans include:

Jack Zink Indoor Rowing Center

Having already completed a successful fundraising campaign, the University of Tulsa is constructing its new Indoor Rowing Center as a single-site facility in the easternmost section of Mabee Gymnasium containing:

  • locker room, showers, etc.
    ergometer room

  • equipment storage areas

  • indoor 8-seat rowing tank

  • Team offices

Charles Boathouse Expansion

The Charles Boathouse was dedicated in 1991 as Tulsa Rowing Club’s central meeting space, for practice, weight-training, and boat storage and repair.  TRC’s Juniors program and the University of Tulsa’s nationally-ranked women’s rowing team have exploded in the past two years, resulting in limited space for more than a few individuals to meet or train at any one time. The Expansion fundraising goal of $300,000 includes:

  • a new bay to allow for more boats, equipment, and a fully-loaded trailer

  • a new meeting room for film/video review, team meetings, and Club gatherings.

  • An ergometer patio for outdoor land workouts.
