TU dedicates new facility for women's rowing team, salutes building's endower
"An absolute dream come true," was how Kevin Harris, head coach of the women's rowing team at the University of Tulsa, described their new home on the banks of the Verdigris River.
The J. Bird Sr. Shell Nest., which is more informally called the "Bird Nest," salutes Jim Bird, whose single gift made the boat house possible. The new facility is considered the gold standard in the collegiate rowing community.
