O.C.U. Signs Two Tulsa Rowers on Athletic Scholarship

7/2/2007

On Wednesday 27th, 2007 Head Coach, Mike Knopp, of Oklahoma City University signed two athletes from the Tulsa Rowing Club Jrs program.

Kelsey Kline (Union) and Elliot Price (TSAS) signed on the dotted line and committed to athletic scholarships and places on the O.C.U. rowing team starting in the fall of 2007.

The athletes continue the ongoing relationship between Tulsa Rowing Club Juniors and O.C.U. They will follow other athletes such as Nick Berry (Cascia Hall) who have graduated from the program and gone on to row on scholarship at the university.

Coach Knopp said that it was a credit to the program and it’s coaching staff that Elliot and Kelsey had been awarded scholarships with only one year of rowing under their belts.

“I’m excited that we are sending these two athletes to row at the college level; I think that it is a great opportunity for them. Oklahoma City has become a hub for Midwest rowing. I know that they will be competing in one of the most up and coming places in the country for the sport”, said Tulsa Juniors Head Coach Neil Bergenroth.

Both Kline and Price took part in the Tulsa Juniors rowing camp and learn to row program last summer.

Tulsa Rowing Club Juniors will commence the fall rowing season on August 20th. The club will be a holding learn to row camp the week of August 27th, 2007.

Full information on the upcoming August learn to row camp can be found at the club’s website
