Employment Opportunity: Tulsa Rowing Club Juniors Program Assistant Coach – Season 2008-2009

Tulsa Rowing Club is seeking an assistant coach for its juniors rowing program for the spring 2008-2009 season and beyond. Currently, the team as about 40 members, but will be expanding during the fall of 2008 to accommodate an increasing interest in this sport. The position requires a motivated and organized individual who enjoys working with high school age rowers. Previous rowing experiences a plus (although not required).

The amount of time required to fulfill the requirements of the position will be approximately 15 hours per week. Practice sessions are Monday through Friday from 4:15pm to 6:15pm.Saturday practices run from 8am – 12pm. Applicants should also be prepared to travel with the team on weekend to out of town regattas.

Start Date:
Rolling

Responsibilities Include:

-Learn to Row (Novice) coaching.
-Supervision and coordination of practices with an emphasis on safety.
-Some equipment maintenance. Knowledge of rigging a plus, but not required.
-Work with other coaches to develop the novice juniors rowing program.
Salary:
There is a small stipend available for successful applicants. This position also includes a free membership to the club.
